Van MOT Testing

Uckfield Motor Services provide MOT testing for vans at their workshop on Bellbrook Industrial Estate in Uckfield. We’re fortunate to have a large, modern workshop so we’re able to carry out both Class 4 and Class 7 MOT tests on any van or light commercial vehicle up to 3.5t.

Your van is, no doubt, an integral part of your business and the last thing that you want is to have it off the road any longer than necessary. There are a few checks that you can do yourself before the MOT test to increase the chances of your vehicle passing.

Pre-MOT Checklist

• Lights – check that all the bulbs are working and replace any that aren’t
• Tyres – check tread depth by inserting a 20p piece in between the tread channels and if you can see the ridge of the coin, the tread depth may be below the legal limit
• Windscreen and wipers – check for chips on the screen and make sure the screenwash is topped up
• Number plates – they need to be clean enough to be visible
• Interior – ensure that the seatbelts and the horn are working
• Exterior – check that none of the bodywork is hanging off and that the doors and bonnet open and shut correctly
